If instrument groups are available, you can switch between alternative (backup) instruments for a specific analysis. Within one instrument group, you can easily switch between instruments for a particular analysis. If configured, the project, injection source, acquisition method, and processing method, are automatically filled when you select the instrument in the Analysis table.
Instrument groups are created in the Sample Scheduler configuration or via XML or SQL commands. For more information, refer to Set up an instrument group.
In the analysis, click Instrument Group.
A drop-down list displays all available instrument groups.
Select an instrument group.
If an analysis and its instrument group were created via XML or SQL command, the instrument group Defined by LIMS is preselected. You can change the instrument group and access all instrument groups configured in the Sample Scheduler configuration.
Select an instrument from the Instrument drop-down list.
The first instrument of the group is automatically preselected. If you select a specific instrument and then switch to another group, the system checks if the other group contains the same instrument. If it is available, your instrument remains selected.
If defined in the group, the injection source, project, acquisition method and processing method are automatically filled. These parameters are then read-only.
If no parameter value is defined in the group, the cell remains empty and you can specify the value yourself. Note that the injection source, project, and acquisition method are mandatory.
The corresponding CDS type is set automatically. You cannot change the CDS type.
To switch between the instruments within one group (because the already selected instrument has no capacity), select a different instrument from the Instrument drop-down list.
The defined parameters of this instrument are automatically applied. If a parameter is not defined, your previously entered value persists.
To switch between the injection sources of the same instrument within a group, select another injection source from the Injection source drop-down list. In order to select a different injection source here, several injection sources must have been configured for the same instrument.
The defined parameters for this combination of instrument and injection source are automatically applied. If a parameter is not defined, your previously entered value persists.
To clear the instrument group and its attributes, select the empty field from the Instrument Group drop-down list.
You can now use all CDS instruments, projects, methods and so on assigned to you for the analysis.
If you merge single injection analyses that use instrument groups, the linked instrument group and all related parameters are removed for this dual analysis. |
