If instrument groups are available, you can switch between alternative (backup) instruments for the sequence. The instruments you want to use for the sequence must be configured in the assigned instrument groups of the included analyses. The instrument must also have the same project defined. This allows you to change the instrument for your sequence without manually changing all associated parameters.
Prerequisites
You have assigned instrument groups to all relevant analyses (for information about assigning an instrument group to analysis, refer to Apply instrument group). Only analyses with the same global parameters can be used to create a sequence. You can assign different instrument groups as long as they contain the same combination of instrument and project.
Create a sequence from the selected analyses.
The global parameters (for example, instrument and project) of the sequence are displayed in the sequence summary in the Analysis table. The instrument group is only displayed for the included analyses in the Sequence table.
In the sequence summary in the Analysis table, click Instrument and select the required entry.
The drop-down list may not show all expected instruments. If you use different instrument groups within the sequence, the list shows only those instruments that are common to all used instrument groups. All instruments must have been configured with the same project in all instrument groups.
The Sequence table is automatically updated with the values as configured for the instrument in the instrument groups.
In an analysis in the Sequence table, click Instrument Group and select the required entry.
The drop-down list may not show all expected instrument groups. It shows only those groups that contain the same combination of instrument and project as set in the sequence summary.
If you want to clear the instrument group, select the empty entry.
