Use Sign-Off for LIMS

The Sample Scheduler allows you to manually submit result reports of a sequence or analysis to the LIMS. The Sign-Off feature is an optional step to verify your results before sending them to the LIMS.

The Sign-Off for LIMS feature includes the following parameters. They are grouped into the category Sign-Off in the View ribbon tab.

Sign-Off parameters

Parameters

Description

Export Date

Displays the date when Submit to LIMS is selected and Sign-Off on result reports for LIMS is scheduled.

Sign-Off

A LIMS connection must be specified for the analysis or sequence so that you can select the Sign-Off check box. You can select or clear the Sign-Off check box for the two Sign-Off states Waiting and In Review, respectively. When you select the Submit to LIMS button, the submission of result reports to LIMS is committed and the check box will be disabled.

Sign-Off state

Displays the following states:

Waiting, In Review, Signed Off, Submitted, Transferred to LIMS.

Sign-Off user

Displays the name of the user who reviews the results and submits the result reports to the LIMS.

Prerequisites

You have configured the Sign-Off for LIMS configuration parameters in the Sample Scheduler configuration, see LIMS configuration parameters.

To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Review & submit results (Sample Scheduler). Privileges are configured in the Control Panel (role type Administrative, section Sample Scheduler).

You acquire data with CDS 2.x.

  1. Make sure the Sign-Off related columns are displayed in the Analysis Review Table. Click Sign-Off in the View ribbon tab and select the parameters you want to display.

  2. The columns are added to the Analysis Review Table. If you wish, modify the column position by simply dragging and dropping the column header from one position to another.

  3. In the Analysis Review Table, select your analyses and review the results.

  4. If not already defined, select a LIMS connection in the corresponding field LIMS Connection. To display the column, click Analysis Info from the View ribbon tab, and select LIMS connection.

  5. The Sign-Off check box will be enabled.

  6. Select the Sign-Off check box for the analyses whose result reports you want to submit to the LIMS. Note that front and back analysis of dual injections must be selected separately. When you select a sequence, the sign-off refers to the entire sequence and all its results are submitted to the LIMS.

  7. The Sign-Off state Waiting changes to In Review. Your user name is added in the Sign-Off user column.

  8. Clear the Sign-Off check box if you do not want the results to be submitted to the LIMS.

  9. The Sign-Off state In Review changes to Waiting.

  10. Click Submit to LIMS, to send the result reports of the selected analyses to LIMS.

  11. The Sign-Off is scheduled, which is indicated with the Sign-Off state Signed Off. The export date of the result reports is added to the Analysis Review Table.

The next two automated steps pass the result reports to the LIMS:

    1. The result reports are copied to the result folder designated for the specified LIMS connection (Sign-Off state Submitted).

    2. The LIMS collects the result reports from the LIMS result folder (Sign-Off state Transferred to LIMS).
