Prerequisites
To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Processing Method > Edit identification parameters. Privileges are configured in the Control Panel.
If the project enforces method approval, the method status must be Generic. For details, see Method approval.
Under Methods in the navigation pane, select the processing method you want to edit.
In the Processing Method window, select the compound table in the Compounds > Identification node.
Right-click the compound table or the space below the table, and select Add timed group from the context menu.
or Alternatively, click Add timed group in the Method ribbon tab.
A row showing the timed group is inserted
into the compound table (icon
).
Edit the following parameters:
Name of the group
Signal for which the timed group applies
If applicable: Associated time reference compound and factor
Expected retention time for the group. This retention time is used for sorting purposes. In addition, it is evaluated if a peak is contained in several timed groups; the group with the smallest expected retention time is then used to quantify the peak. For more details on conflict resolution, see Evaluation of timed group parameters.
In the Timed Group Parameters window to the right of the compound table, edit the following parameters:
Include identified peaks: If not selected, the area and height of the group is the sum of the areas and heights of the unknown peaks found within the time region(s).
If selected, the area or height of identified peaks are also taken into account.
Quantify each peak individually: If not selected, the individual peaks that belong to the group are not quantified.
If selected, each peak in the given time region is quantified with the group's calibration parameters.
Add a time region.

Click one of the dark gray squares to the left of the time region table to select an entire row.
To select multiple rows, hold the [Ctrl] key while clicking the rows. To select multiple consecutive rows, hold the [Shift] key and click a second row.
Right-click the selected row or rows, then select Delete selected compound or group.
or Alternatively, press [Delete].
For calibration: Select the group in the Compounds > Calibration node, and provide the calibration parameters.
