Preview (2D-LC)

The Preview panel shows the 2D-LC gradient profiles in one or two windows:

  • The main window, which is always visible, shows the 2D gradient profile over the whole run. It also allows the cuts to be edited interactively.

  • The right window, which can be toggled on and off, shows either the 2D gradient profile or the flush gradient profile. Both gradient profiles can be edited interactively.

The Preview is synchronized with the method parameters so that any changes you make in the Preview are also updated in the parameters, and vice versa.

Toolbar

The following tools are available:

Displays the Select Signal dialog box, which allows you to select a chromatogram to display in the Preview.

Removes the current chromatogram from the Preview.

Switches to Multiple Heart-cutting mode.

Switches to High Resolution Sampling mode.

Switches to Time-based peak cutting, where start and end times of cuts are determined by times entered into the Sampling Table.

Switches to Peak-based peak cutting, where start and end times of cuts are based on the peak detection parameters in the Peak Trigger section..

Allows you to add a cut manually.

Allows you to delete a cut.

Samples the entire chromatogram using the current peak detection parameters and enters the cuts into the Sampling Table.

Allows you to optimize the parking of cuts so that the highest number can be analyzed in the available time. The Sampling Table is updated to show which cuts have been allocated a delayed analysis.

Resets the current optimization.

Sets the Stoptime to the end of the preview chromatogram.

Resets all zoomed graphics to their normal magnification.

Toggles the display of the gradients in the Preview.

Toggles the display of the threshold and slope values at the cursor position in the Preview.

Toggles the display of the 2D gradient panel at the right of the Preview.

Switches between the analytical gradient and the flush gradient in the 2D gradient panel.

Main panel

The main panel shows the series of cuts and the gradients as follows:

  • The chromatogram is shown in dark blue.

  • The 2D gradient line is shown in magenta.

  • The flush gradient is shown in orange.

  • Cuts are shown in light blue, dark blue when selected. The tooltip shows the cut number and type, the start and end times and the parking outcome (position or reason for loss).

  • Cuts that have been lost are shown in red, dark red when selected.

  • The initial 2D gradient points are shown at the left of the chromatogram trace; The gradient shift is shown as a dark gray line.

  • The Stoptime is shown as a black vertical line; you can move the Stoptime manually or double-click it to adjust it automatically.

All changes are synchronized with the relevant parameters tables.

Right panel

The right panel, which can be optionally removed from the Preview, shows either the Analytical Gradient or the Flush Gradient.

  • The Analytical Gradient is shown in magenta. You can add, delete and move the gradient points.

  • The Flush Gradient is shown in orange. You can add, delete and move the gradient points.

All changes are synchronized with the relevant gradient table.
