As long as Sample Scheduler is not activated, the number of concurrent user sessions is limited to five, and several functions are inactive. Activate Sample Scheduler to explore it in a training mode. Activation includes the following:
The entered Sample Scheduler service credentials are applied.
The system creates Sample Scheduler roles & privileges.
The system automatically assigns your instruments
Scheduler Agents and LIMS Agent services are started, and the startup type is set to Automatic.
The limit on the number of concurrent users is removed.
The start menu entry Agilent Technologies > Agilent Sample Scheduler proceeds directly to the login screen, skipping the information page in the future.
Prerequisites
To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Manage Security (Shared Services). Privileges are configured in the OpenLab Control Panel.
The activation alone does not enable you to submit analysis requests to instruments. Ensure you have the required licenses (60 days trial license or Sample Scheduler Expansion pack). |
During activation all instruments are automatically assigned. To only assign a subset of instruments, deselect the check box Instruments are assigned automatically and assign instruments afterwards during the configuration. |
In a regulated environment: Create a service user for Sample Scheduler before activation. See Create Service User.
Ensure that all Instrument Controllers can be pinged.
