Configure ramp and plot ion abundance vs a ramped parameter

This procedure plots the abundance of the 3 masses specified in the Acquisition Profile Window UI vs a range of values for a specified analyzer component. A workflow might include replacing the value in the Parameters area with the newly determined value. This modification would then be evaluated by running a scan in manual tune to determine if this change was acceptable.

  1. Request tune control and select Manual Tune > Parameters.
  2. Select Ramp from the Acquisition type dropdown list.
  3. In the Ramp area, select a parameter to ramp from the Type dropdown list.
  4. If necessary, edit the default Start and Stop value range and the Step size for this parameter.
  5. If needed, select Smooth ramp data and select the Type of result to display.
  6. Click Start acquiring data to start the ramp and display the plot during the run.
When the data acquisition is complete, a vertical selection bar displays on the graph.
  7. Drag the vertical selection bar in the plot to an optimal value for your ramped parameter and click. This value will display in the parameter box next to Apply.
  8. Click Apply to change the selected parameter to this value.
  9. Click Save tune parameters with new tune file name and name this manual tune file.
  10. Optionally, open a pdf of the manual tune file parameters.
  11. Release tune control.
