Fast Scan adds the capability to use faster chromatography without missing peaks. If the parameters set do not require fast scan, this feature is not used, even if selected.
In this mode, the MS step size is fixed to 0.2 u, and data is acquired at either 5 kDa/s or 10 kDa/s, depending on the acquisition parameters. When this check box is not selected, scan speeds are limited to 2.6 kDa/s with an MS step size of 0.1 u.
You select this option in Tune. In the Method section, you select a Fast scan autotune file.
