Delete tune files (LC/MS)

Manually tune the MS (LC/MS)

User Interface

Tune file

The name of the current tune file. You can use the icons in the Tune Toolbar to open and save a tune file.

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Fast scan

Whether or not the current tune file is a Fast scan tune file.

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Fast Scan Checktune is not supported.

Ion source

The source that is installed with the current instrument.

Diverter

Whether the stream from the LC is going into Waste or into the MS.

Calibrant on

Whether or not the calibrant is flowing.

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Autotune/Checktune

Polarity

Positive, Negative, or Both.

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Autotune

Start from factory defaults

If you select this check box, the Autotune starts from the factory defaults. However, the EMV (electron multiplier voltage) is not reset to factory defaults. This option is for a new SQ that has never been tuned before, or for after venting and pumpdown for maintenance, or for when the current tune values are grossly out of range.

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Fast scan

If you select this check box, then the next Autotune is a Fast scan Autotune. See Fast scan (LC/MS).

This option is only available if your instrument is an Agilent 61xxC (for example, 6125C or 6135C).

Fast scan Checktune is not supported.

Faster scanning results in some loss of sensitivity and resolution. Because of the special adjustments required for fast scanning, ion transmission through the quadrupole is lower. The Fast scan Autotune report reflects these adjustments, with higher peakwidth and lower abundance values than standard Autotune. Do not use Fast scan Autotune to verify or diagnose instrument performance. Although Fast scan Autotune does not have a Pass/Adjust function like Checktune, it does calibrate the mass axis and peakwidth and optimizes ion optics parameters for improved ion transmission. If Fast scan Autotune is unsuccessful, then the system may have a minor maintenance issue that is not bad enough to affect standard Autotune.
