You edit a method to configure method parameters and instrument configuration settings for your instrument and method.
You need to make sure that your method's parameters and instrument configuration are compatible with your current instrument hardware and resources. The system compares your method configuration and the actual instrument configuration before allowing it to be used to acquire data.
The Method Editor for SQ has two possible user interfaces. When you first create a method, the Auto Acquire user interface is available. The most frequently used options are visible in the same pane. If you want to edit other parameters, you can select the Advanced Acquire user interface. However, once you have switched to the Advanced Acquire user interface and saved the method, you will permanently change the method to Advanced Acquire, and you will not be able to change that method back to Auto Acquire mode.
The Acquisition Parameters table is available in both the Auto Acquire and Advanced Acquire user interfaces. In the Advanced Acquire user interface, it is on the Acquisition section. In the Acquisition Parameters table, you can specify up to four Scan segments. These scans are acquired for the entire run. You can also add SIM segments to the Acquisition Parameters table. These SIM segments start at the Time that you enter. These segments are acquired until the next time that is specified in the table. You edit the Scan and SIM Segments in the Acquisition section.
