Apply sequence template to existing sequence

Starting with Sample Scheduler 2.8, sequence templates can also be assigned to an already existing sequence.

Prerequisites

  • To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Create sequence (Sample Scheduler). Privileges are configured in the Control Panel (role type Administrative, section Sample Scheduler).

  • The sequence template has been created with OpenLab CDS version 2.5 or higher.

  • Sequence must be in the state Waiting, Waiting on Error, or Incomplete.

  • You have already set the project and instrument for the sequence.

  1. Select the sequence you want to apply the template to. You can apply the template only to one sequence at a time.

  2. Click Apply sequence template in the toolbar.

  3. From the drop-down list, select the sequence template.

  4. If the sequence contains lines that are not of the sample type Sample, a warning opens, cautioning that all lines containing a different sample type will be removed.

For action lines, the warning refers to them. They are not visible in the analysis view.

  5. Either confirm or cancel the action.

  6. If you confirm the action, all lines that contain a sample type other than Sample are deleted. If the sequence contains action lines, these are also deleted. Any edits to the sequence are lost.

The Sample Scheduler sequence does not contain any report lines, even if the report lines are contained within the sequence creation template.

The sequence is assigned the state Rollout Pending.

For more information about the Rollout Pending state, see Analysis Workflow.
