About method configuration

If you installed the 2D-LC Add-on, more method configurations are available. See 2D-LC methods for details.

When you create a new processing method, you must choose a specific method configuration. The selected method configuration determines which sections of the method are visible and can be edited in the Processing Method window.

You choose the method configuration in the Create New Processing Method dialog . The available method sections are listed for each configuration.

The Create New Processing Method dialog is shown in the following cases:

  • When you load data that has no linked processing method. If this dialog is shown depends on the selection options (see Always ask for a processing method). Here you can create and link a new method already when loading the data.

If you load ChemStation or EZChrom data, an option to auto import existing processing methods may be available. For details, see Import ChemStation data or Import EZChrom data.

Load and link data: A new processing method is created with the selected configuration. It is linked to all injections of a result set, but the injections are not reprocessed yet.

Load and process data: A new processing method is created with the selected configuration. It is linked to all injections of a result set, and all injections are processed with the new method and its default settings.

Select No method as a method configuration to load the data without creating a processing method.

  • When you create a new processing method:

Once you chose a specific method configuration, you cannot change it anymore subsequently.

The method configuration is part of the information that is shown when you print a method. It is shown as Type in the head of the method report.
