Signatures are only available if you log in to OpenLab CDS with a username and password. User authentication is configured in the Control Panel (see System Configuration).
With signatures, you can confirm that you have seen the results. With each signature, you provide a signature meaning, for example, Reviewed or Approved. In the project settings in the Control Panel, an administrator can configure the following options related to the signature workflow (see Set signature levels):
define signature levels
if required, enforce the signature order
if required, allow same level signatures
define meanings for signatures
assign users to each signature level
configure auto-locking of results with a specific signature level
For example, signature level one could be a technician who signs the data with the meaning Ready for review; with Allow same level signatures selected, a second technician would be able to sign at signature level one as well; signature level two could be a shift supervisor who signs with the meaning Reviewed. Due to an enforced signature order, the shift supervisor would be able to sign only if a first level signature already exists.
Signatures can be applied to locked or unlocked results.
Signatures are only supported for result sets, not for single samples. |
