Use existing EZChrom data and methods

Data from OpenLab CDS EZChrom Edition rev. A.04.01 or later already used the ACAML data format. It can be loaded directly in OpenLab CDS. You only need to transfer the result set to the Results folder of your OpenLab CDS project. See Load or add data for more information on the Load data function.

Results in content management systems

If OpenLab CDS is connected to ECM 3.x, EZChrom stores results in a zipped format. You can simply load the existing SSIZip archives from their current location (see Special aspects of working with OpenLab ECM 3.x). After modifying and saving this zipped data, a new version will be created automatically. The original data is preserved in the original version of the SSIZip archive.

If OpenLab CDS is connected to another Content Management system, EZChrom stores results in an unzipped format. If you load unzipped results from Content Management, OpenLab CDS allows you to create a specific result set version that preserves the original data and results. The version label for that version is then EZ-xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx.

Manual integration

If you load EZChrom data, EZChrom manual integration fixes are not loaded with the data. See Imported values. If you reprocess such EZChrom data, the manual integration fixes will be lost.

Auto-import of existing methods

The method status of EZChrom methods is Generic by default. See Method approval.

When loading the data, OpenLab CDS looks for existing data analysis methods associated with the injections. If there are any, the application offers you to auto import them. The imported method information is the same as if you import a single EZChrom method (see Import method from EZChrom A.04.01 or higher).

Your data may contain multiple methods linked to different injections. The system imports up to ten methods and links them to the injections as defined in the original data system.

If there are more than ten methods, a dialog opens. It allows you to either cancel the action, or to import only the method from the first injection and link it to all injections.

New methods for EZChrom data

Under certain conditions, it is not possible to create a result set method for EZChrom data. Any method that you link to the EZChrom data remains as a master method in the Methods folder. Other than with OpenLab CDS data, the method is not copied to the result set folder.

The conditions are:

  1. You have loaded EZChrom data directly in OpenLab CDS (see Use existing EZChrom data and methods ), and

  2. the original project in OpenLab EZChrom has not included method and sample prep files in the result packages.

This condition applies if in the EZChrom project settings the Result Package Mode option has been selected, but Include Method and Sample Prep files in Results Package has been cleared.

To create a result set method in this case, use one of the following approaches:
