Apply sequence template

Create a sequence from the analyses in the Analyses view using a sequence template. Sequence templates are created in OpenLab CDS Acquisition. * * For details on how to create a sequence template, refer to the Acquisition online help (search for "create sequence template").

In Acquisition, creation of sequence templates is only supported for single analyses. You can apply a sequence template based on single analyses to dual analyses, but if you use a bracketing template, bracketing is not applied to dual analyses. The bracketing will be ignored in the resulting sequence containing the dual analyses.

The use of sequence templates is only supported in combination with OpenLab CDS 2.5 or higher.

Prerequisites

  • To be able to carry out the procedure as described, you need the privilege Create sequence (Sample Scheduler). Privileges are configured in the Control Panel (role type Administrative, section Sample Scheduler).

  • The sequence template has been created with OpenLab CDS version 2.5 or higher.

  • Analyses must be in the state Waiting, Waiting on Error, or Incomplete.

  • All analyses to be included in the sequence must have the same global parameters.

  • At least one analysis to be included in the sequence must be assigned to the project that also contains the template. The other analyses do not need to have a project defined, but if they do, they must have the same project assigned.

  • All analyses to be included in the sequence must have the same injection source, either a single or a dual injection source.

  • All analyses to be included in the sequence must have the same LIMS connection, or the parameter must be blank for all analyses.

  • Different instrument groups can be assigned to the analyses as long as they contain the same combination of instrument and project.

  • Analyses must be of the type Sample.

  1. In the Analyses view, select the analyses you want to include in a sequence.

At least one of the selected analyses must have a project and instrument assigned. The other analyses do not need to have a project or instrument defined, but if they do, they must have the same project and instrument assigned.

  2. Click Create Sequence.

  3. From the drop-down list, select the sequence template.

  4. In the confirmation dialog, click or tap Apply to apply the template. This action cannot be undone.

  5. The sequence is created in the Analyses view and assigned with the state Rollout Pending. A progress bar is displayed until the complete sequence has been created in the database.

For more information about the Rollout Pending state, see Analysis Workflow.

  6. The sequence is rolled out automatically.

  7. When the sequence has been rolled out successfully, the analysis state turns into Waiting, or Incomplete (in case mandatory parameters are missing). The sequence can now be expanded to view the run-by-run analyses.

For the included analyses, the value of the parameter Injections per sample will be overwritten with the value specified in the template.

The Sample Scheduler sequence does not contain any report lines, even if the report lines are contained within the sequence creation template.
